Thanks Roo. I now know just what I missed this year. I'll sleep better tonight.

Probably not cool-looking though. Miz Roo sez those pants went out with MC Hammer.
That was a great story. I'm new here so I need to dig up your old posts.
So parachute pants arn't cool anymore? That's a shame, they really look good with my mullet.
I guess it's back to leg warmers and a G-string for me.

Hey, BLUEFLAME1...for the benefit of our West Coast brethren, no vivimos en la costa del este.

Seriously, thanks for the edit! I'm just a rub at heart.

Yep Roo you nailed it...Good story.

Sorry we missed ya' Friday but work gets in the way of fun, sometimes.

BTW - Miss Ron pointed out the mannequin to me. She had to walk up to it to mash the button causing them them to wiggle and jiggle while playing a "******* and beer" jingle.

Damn it was hot......

edit: the weather not the mannequin.

Good story. Thanks for the re-cap. You paint a good visual picture. I was gonna go and meet you and your gang at the coliseum, but i had to spend time on the kuh-bow-ta cutting the pasture. Maybe next time

Good stuff! An enjoyable read that had enough detail to paint the picture, not not so much that you felt like you were two inches from the front of the TV. The carnival atmosphere soaked through really well in that tale. Thanks for the entertainment!

I was especially fascinated with the story .. the part about how fast you were able to get a grasp of the aboriginal language in such a short amount of time.

Did you study languages in school?? Sometimes it can be quit tiresome trying to decipher languages. I was in a southern diner and it took me quite a bit to figure out what "tatoorrrrsoorrsgritts ? " meant. I thought I might have to hire an interpreter.

Hats off to you for the great read, and quick wits handling yourself in far off places like that.

Good story, and one I can relate to quite well.

I rode up to Sturgis South with a few buddies from Baton Rouge -- one riding a Kawasaki, one Yamaha, one Honda, one Piaggio scooter (3-wheeler that really hauls!), and me on my Harley (I figured they took me along just for sound effects...). Try to imagine adding Cajun into the language gumbo!
