Funny this was posted. I was in VB last week and I noticed alot of riders-sport bike riders where the worst had there feet down at lower speeds on the strip. I mean like 20-25 MPH. I have my feet up at like 1 MPH. I don't care what others do, but found it kinda funny as did the wife.

Not too surprising. Most sport bike riders are front brake dependant. Rear brake usage is minmal, even at slow speeds.

A couple of years ago I pulled into a popular bike hang out. I was tooling around nice and slow looking to see if my friends bike was already in the lot. A group of sport bikes pulled in behind me and one of the riders got impatient with my slow crawl. He shouted "speed up old man". When we parked he came over and told me I had to "learn to ride faster". This kind of pissed me off, so I asked if he thought he could follow and keep up with me. All his friends were looking at him so he said something like "there ain't nothing you can do to lose me". So I said, "Okay follow me, just don't pass me. First one to put a foot down loses". Off we went riding slow in the lot with him honking his horn and yelling. Then I made a sharp turn up an incline. When he followed me up, I made a sharp full lock u-turn to the right and came back down. I made another u-turn to the left to get back up. He grabbed a handful of front brake in mid turn and toppled over sliding down the hill with the bike on its side. I made another u-turn, came back down parked and went inside.

In retrospect I should have just shrugged off his comment in the first place. But then I thought that if he was game, I was too. I thought for sure he would come looking for me inside but he never did.

There are parking lot drills for that! Keep them high.

I was in stop-and-go traffic after work, and all I could think of was this thread title. LOL

I ride with a several folks that let their feet hang down until they get above 30mph. they all have many (decades) more years riding than me. I don't see the problem.

OK. I read the whole darn thread. It was an endurance test. However the RLAP video and a couple of the avatars helped a lot. Well mostly the avatars.
Uhhhhhhhhhhhhh what was the question??
