Default New info on new Harleys!

I just found out that Harley is going to put the kickstand on the RIGHT side of the bike. They decided to make this change after doing a lot of research. Apparently people park their bikes on slopes where a right-side kickstand would be more beneficial than a left-side kickstand quite a bit more often than the other way around. This change will allow for the bikes to be stood up easier. I'm sure this change will appeal to smaller riders, older riders, and the women riders entering the market. I'm happy to see Harley-Davidson doing what they can to be better than the competition. Small, but significant, changes like this are what will keep the company around for many more years.

Hey, why not have one on both sides?

I'm calling my contact at HD to get this in on the 2010 models. I think I can have it done by October. So don't get excited if it's not on the bikes at the 2010 unveiling.

Or else Soos can make us one.

Don't believe it. That would make the new bikes hard as hell to park next to bikes with the kick-stand on the left side.

The kickstand is gonna be design to clear the exhaust (obviously) and offer more leverage. Just another way to make ridin' (or parkin') more enjoyable.

Hmmmm...in the spirit of cost cutting I heard they were doing away with any kickstand at all. Instead there will be inflateable and deflateable airbags on either side of the bike so you can just push a button and lay it down on it's side.
