I had a heat shield falling apart on the muffler on my truck, and went to see if it was worth welding together. It wasn't so I had them cut it off. No big thing. Then I remembered I needed to have the truck inspected so told the guy to go ahead and get that done while it was on the rack. Front left hub assembly was shot and had to be replaced. Start with a simple rattlin' heat shield and ended up spending $300+. Ain't that the way it always seems to work!
