Bigger isn't always better with engine size regardless of popular belief . I've been wringing more ponies out of harley motors for a long time , and there's a point of diminishing returns vrs size and money spent .
I haven't had hands on with a twin cam yet so this has been an eye opener for me . With a shovel peak performance but a decent riding and reasonable life engine is 96" , you can get bigger but the life drops like resale on a cheap jap bike and wrench time goes up as fast .
Evo's 113 is the sweet spot for a fun time but it's a 20,000 to 25,000 mile motor max before something goes boom and that's if you treat it right . 103's get better life that's about it .
I'm hearing about 150"+ engines now . Unless these are a much larger engine in external dimensions , it's a short fused bomb & money pit . Basic mechanics of the Vtwin engine .

Take that to the bank.
And, the harder you push it, the shorter that life will be.
If you run it sensibly, and only use the power as needed, you will minimize the shortened life.....but you know, and I know, if ya build it, yer gonna run it!!

I don't care if yer talkin about Harleys or Hippos....if it has an internal combustion engine in it, and you start pulling more horsepower/torque out of it than what it was originally designed for, you WILL shorten the expected life of the engine.
