Ahhh the CBC, should have known it was a local hangout. cool. Hey Kristy, saw your pics of the kids at christmas, it's what christmas is all about.

My wife has 6 little grandkids from 3 of her kids. All ranging in age from 1 to 5. cute little kids, I was looking forward to seeing them all over on xmas eve, but unfortunately some politics between the girls and one of them threatened to not do christmas. Crap. I had to have a talk with her and convince her to bring the little ones over, then I had to bark at the others when they started getting into it. All turned out good I think.

Yummy, cookies! I thought I smelled something good to eat! Send half of the first batch for me, wouldya doc?

I've had my share of difficult Holiday get togethers due to family politics. It's not fun, at all. My mother and father BOTH refuse to be in the same state as the other. My mother's family abhores my father's family, etc, etc, etc... I thought it was difficult as a child growing up in that hostility, torn between family loyalties. I was wrong! Its even worse as a mother trying to schedule family time so my children can get to know each "side" of my family and their father's as well! I just do my best to make sure every one gets equal time and set strict priorities. Father takes precedence over Grandparent, Grandparent over Aunt...

you're right Kristy, and it snowballs with each generation. Really a shame that's what it has to come to.

I guess there'll aways be politics, we just have to mitigate them. In our case, the one daughter always phones the other daughter and tells her all the problems in her life, as sisters should, talking things out is good. But now daugher 2 is using those things against her and is rallying the other kids against her. I shut them down. There will be no conspiracy meeting in my house. They didn't like that, but too f'n bad.

Howdy Posers! Sounds like we got some drama today! Bummer. My guys know if they don't
act right I will go ballistic on them. They also know if they don't like it then don't come
around. I don't GAF. (Really I do but I ain't up for no b/s). This approach has worked well.
They have always kept coming back & I don't get the drama crap. They know I will stomp a
mud hole in it. Homie don't play that b/s. hehe!

we got a couple millimeters last night, just enough to dash any hopes of a december ride, even if it was only a short one. The roads were drying out nicely there for a few days, problem is getting from my garage to the main road means riding across ice and packed snow. Wouldn't want to lay down my little scooter, that would be em-bare-a-skin

Last year I had a glacier in my driveway all winter. Got the chipper & hose out & cut a path through it.
Had the blisters to prove it.
Guess I should'a worn some gloves.
