My son, a number of years ago, got the australian cattle dog from hell, but he didn't have a house at the time, so I kept the damned thing. It ain't the average pet. It adores me, but if someone, or something, sticks its fingers inside the fence, it will be in a world of hurt. Effing thing can knock a cow off its feet. It's a real ranch dog, not some show dog. It will eat a coyote.

 

It's the goddamned Michael ****** of blue heelers....big air time...biting the **** out of anything.

 

Hmmm....had ta google it to see what it was. I've seen that breed before...didn't know what they were called

 

Haha... they are quick... didn't know they were biters though!

 

Bred to bite cattle on their heels (to herd them around)...hence the term 'heelers'....they have a real sense of territory. I've known heelers that regard their owner's truck as their territory....stick your hand inside the truck, and lose it. But outside the truck they can be meek as pussycats.

They're a mix of pitbull, dingos, and what have you. Very intelligent...show one how to unlatch a gate, and they'll do it on their own. Look into their eyes, and you know you're not looking at a chihuahua brain. Smart effing dogs. Cows learn real quick that a look from a heeler means business.
