I'm always amused (and a little worried for new riders looking for advice) when some yahoo posts in a winter thread claiming how he rides year round, including snow. Living in the west, I've been caught out in such conditions in the shoulder seasons (usually crossing mountain passes). It's a great recipe for a serious accident.

Yup... I don't need to impress anyone! We had some heavy rain here the other night and water on the road or running across the road is gonna cause problems. I have been caught in snow back when I lived in MN and don;t care much for it.

I've got quite a few friends that are retired and snowbirds....I kinda like the winter season, and don't want to get too soft when I retire.

I like the winter myself... nooo bugs!

Seems like new riders are always tring to prove themselves and can get the wrong ideas from some. Its different if your riding in cold weather in AZ or FL compared to up north here.

Our summer bugs aren't very bad around here....not like the UP or midwest lake country.

I'd feel pretty bad if I gave somebody advice that got them injured or killed....though I think some (a very few) enjoy steering others wrong.
