Default Are you kidding me?

I took my bike to the dealer for service today. While I was waiting for my wife to pick me up, some guy waiting on his Buell started talking to me. He started telling me lots of stuff I didn't really care about. Then he thought it was important to tell me that he had gotten a pedicure and a manicure that afternoon. He wanted to show me his manicure. I decided that I had best go look at bikes rather than talk to that freak.

I hope no one else in the Harley shop was listening. lol

Sometimes you feel like a nut (or two),
Sometimes you don't.
GUESS you didn't. (AND that's a GOOD thang. )

Too bad, tho, maybe he could have gotten you a discount at the spa, for the wifey, jus' sayin'. You could have come out smellin' like a rose, on this one, Bruceee. Scoot fixed, a trip to the spa for Wifey, and you would have been livin' large.

HEY, some folks NEED a manicure:

BUT the pedicure???
I'd be lookin' for a new dealer, too.

FYI - IF you walk into the dealer, and the 'crew' looks like this,

OR they have one of these on the floor, You MAY BE in the wrong dealer!!!!!! Jus' sayin'.

Harleys have been the preferred status symbol for the cliche' nuevo riche for quit a while. Well much after the EVO age and harleys were virtually considered bullet proof when that motor came out anyways, comparitively speaking. Along with cops and Outlaws(who have always stood by their hogs) came ***** biotch rock stars, B movie stars and some slug with much money had harleys. Elvis doesn't fit in that category, Elvis was cool. Look how the moco fcked up all their dealerships with the mandatory muave, chrome and white cookie cutter look? Prior to that mandate, dealerships had style, personality and a down hominess about them. oil stained wooden floors. Harley MOCO knick knacks reflecting the many years in the bizz all over the dealership.

I remember when cell phones hit main stream and all the hard core riders were making fun of the riders who always had one. Now its darn near a reasonable necessity when you hit the road. Just makes sense.

Riders took a certain amount of pride in being able to get home after a break down, hook or by crook and with the bike running. Baling wire, spare points and condensers, bags of nutts and bolts and washers. Today...I don't know if thats possible with all the relays, sensors and electronical/computerish parts.

So to hear talk of pedicures and such, doesn't surprise me. But hey it takes all kinds. Look how much better the bikes got? And better looking? And you kinda knew that when auto's started getting computerized bikes were soon to follow and they did. The jump in technology was bigger between my 1983 FL and 2001 FL then it was from my 1963 FL and my 1983 FL.

maybe he was seeing if you'd take him for a ride on the back of your bike. he'd most likely put his head on your shoulder to see where you were riding though.
