I have the mechanics tools I have been collecting for almost 40 years along with the body and fender tools and paint guns. Plus I have the machinists tools I accumulated during a 10 year stint in the factories. And finally when my Dad passed I got all the woodworking and construction tools HE had collected over the years. I have a 2 car garage which just fits the bike and my tools and baby I can build darn near anything. The only thing I don't have is any bloody time to do anything, lol!

edit: The other thing I really "need" is a decent Bridgeport......

 

As a kid I think all we had was a pair of pliers, monkey wrench, and few screwdrivers. Kept the lawnmovers, tractors, and all the other stuff going. Now I have a special tool for everything I own. Just like Tim Taylor, the tool man, if the space is there got to have it. Started repairing and building string instruments a few yrs back. Now you talk about speciality tools and $..I even got a few one of a kind that I made for a special repair. My son in law can't wait.

 

I am with you! always need to buy new tools! any excuse to buy any!

 

Take it from a 22 year veteran tool junkie, it never ends so build yourself a nice big workshop/tool storage shed cause they keep makin new tools.

 

I use tools everyday . My way of life. Got'ta hav'm.

Welcome to the club. I just cleaned out my tool boxes of all my doubles and gave them to the club, for our club tool box. There were torque wrenches, special cut allen wrenches (friggin H-D), box wrenches (3 & 4 sets) and all kinds of ring pliers and sh*t. I'm a junkie.

 

Can you say Bend-Pac four post lift?

 

The first step is admitting that you have a problem...

True story... the tools (the ones passed on from my dad and all the ones I'd gotten for myself) were one thing I made sure to get in the divorce. I left her a few basics... duplicate hammers, screwdrivers, etc. But even tho she got the big house, the kids, and most of the money, she still reminds me on occasion that life has been soooo tough because "you took all the tools".

Boo f'n hoo. At least I actually USE them...

LOL, I can relate, the first wife got the house, cars, etc. I got my tools, the bike, and my clothes. To this day I still think it was a good deal! With my tools I can always get again what I once had.
