This story or analogy is really human nature. A guy is looking at motorcycles and really wants a Harley. I compare this to a person who is picking apples and really wants the best, ripest fruit. For some reason, the guy doesn't buy a Harley. Doesn't want to pay the price and rationalizes in his mind that a Metric is just as good for cheaper. Comparably the guy picking the apples realizes that the best apples are near the top of the tree, but he doesn't want to get a taller ladder to climb higher to the top. The guy buys a cheap Rice Burner, then even though he really wanted a Harley, he ends up Harley bashing, claiming the reason he didn't buy one was because they are overpriced and break down a lot! Now since the guy picking the apples didn't get the taller ladder he is forced to pick apples 2nd best. He claims he didn't want the apples he couldn't reach because they were sour and not as good. I think the moral to this story is pretty self explanatory.

So what about us guys that didn't want to mess up our HD before we learned how to handle a cruiser? For some of us it's a natural progression. Personally if someone looks down on me for what I own or ride-F em.

Musta trashed two metrics, and then couldn't afford a Harley until last year. Still have a metric in the garage for the wife to learn/thrash on.
