I hope there was more than 5 you had to rate...

Our Deere construction equipment dealership (1 of 9 in the corp) is plugging along, business is down but not enough to cut anyone loose, but then we don't really have any excessive fat at the branch. The service department I run was number 1 in profitability last year...conventional wisdom leads upper brass to the conclusion that they may want to keep us around.

Too Dam Many, and I am still hearing people saying they are waiting on their new presidents stimulus checks and those 4,000,000 jobs he is gonna give away. Like he is just gonna snap his fingers and everyone has a job. Hope everyone makes it through these tough times, including me and mine.

Well Kinda. Im a self employed plumber. Work is way off. I was booming doing new houses for the past 8 years. Course thats gone now. Didnt save for hard times. been advertising heavy for service repair whatever, calls are not coming in . Now the yellow Book collection department calls about every day. At&t yellow page add cost me $425. Bills for just advertising are about $900 to $1000, a month. Not one call from that. Cant make end s meet. I am trying to sell my house now. When can I expect to find my welfare bailout check in my mail box?????????

I've been between jobs for seven years now. Between the one I had and the one I will turn down,. It's called retirement.

Just hang on there folks. In my life I went through two recessions. In 1981 I was laid off from Caterpillar. It took 9 months to find another job. This area had 25% unemployment. Thank you Pres. Reagan.

Then in 1989 I lost a contract and was off for another 9 months.

I made it through it all. Big wage down to starting wage twice. The economy always rebounds and the jobs flood in.

Just take each day and look. Think about all the jobs that you can do. Then when you get that job, look for a better one. It is always easier to get a job when you have one.

The great thing was that I rode my cycle to the unemployment office and jog hunting.

I also learned that you can get tired of fishing almost everyday.

I've been playing the game with my senority at work to avoid the heavy physical labor that I knew I would no longer be able to do. Well due to the economy and big cut backs the game ended last Sunday. 2 Doctors and a visit to the physical evaluation specialist and I'm now applying for disability. At least I have something after 29 years. Really would like to get in 1 more year,51 is too young to retire.
