Aren't we all just posers really?

I was just following up on your earlier comment. The guys coming home from the war in '45 pretty much pioneered the bad boy image. They were the true originals, & everybody after that has just kind of followed their lead.
In reviewing the thread the timing of my post right after yours was less than ideal. However I meant no disrespect. Thank you for your contributions in the service. Many of us Americans tend not to say that enough....

I never had a desire to be in an outlaw biker club. Just a desire to ride my bike. Better gear came with the experiences I gathered along the way. I found that a blue jean jacket doesn't always do the job. I quickly got tired of loose clothing flapping in the wind, beating against my arms and neck. I remember duct taping my face sheild to the helmet 35 years ago so the constant rattling wouldn't drive me nuts during a 375 ride home for Thanksgiving. I learned the value of windproof/waterproof gloves. Need I go on? If that's posing then I'm as guilty as anyone else I guess.
