My main head wears a skid lid...my other head wears a lil German style helmet. If your offended by it..ya should'nt be lookin when I pee.

Oh no, I have to admit now that I have three helmets to match my mood of the day. I have my Scorpion half, my Shoei modular and my brand spank'n new Seer half helmet that matches my bike. Now where am I gonna get a set of leathers to match? The cheapest helmet I have is the Scorpion and that was just over $100.00. The other two were over $300.00. I value my noggin as much as my bike.

The reason I use a novelty lid is because it's the closest thing to wearing nothing at all and still being legal (some places) -- where I cannot get away with the novelty lid I'll wear my DOT 1/2 shell. Most of the time I'd prefer no lid at all - but sometimes I'd even throw on a full face if I had one -- all depends on the circumstances.
Oh by the way, my "$25 dollar helmet" actually cost me about 45 loonies (extra shipping I guess).

Sure, if I bite it or get plowed into, then it would be "MY" melon plastered on the asphalt, but it would be by "MY" choice, not some asshat legislator sitting behind his desk telling me what "he" thinks is best for me.If you are really worried what some "crowd" thinks of you, or what you wear, then all I have to say to folks like that is:
Poor is the man who's pleasures depend on the permission of others!

In some states the "Law" as you call it, gives you "permission" to not wear a helmet. So I guess you speak of yourself when you say: Poor is the man who's pleasures depend on the permission of others!
