Old School Biker
#22
I own a Harley. I try to do my own mechanic work, but not always. It's not my only vehicle, but it is my primary mode of transportation. I haven't been riding for many years like a lot of you, but can't imagine life without riding at this point. Which school does that make me from? I don't know.

Well lets see...
I'm to lazy to fight or commit crimes, My stomach is to F'd up from partying in my teens, twenties and thirtys for drinking and drugging anymore, I work in corporate America (at least until the layoffs start next year).
Hummm...
Looks like I failed the old school biker test

I'm old school, because I've been riding for 37 years (not all of which has been on a Harley), am old and own a X-bones. I love the ole school look of the bones and I'm making it look older this winter.

I been riding for the past 35 years but what I think makes a person "old school" is not so much how long they've been riding as where your head is when it comes to riding. Do you only ride in good weather? Do you trailer to all rallies? Has your bike ever been anyplace other than the bar down the street? Is the ride more important than who you impress riding? If you answer yes to any of these questions then you cannot be "old school" in my book. Old school is about living it not pretending to live it on some weekends.

One ? : When was the last time you kick started or hand cranked, anything? (Really makes absopositively no differnce, jus' "aksin' ". )
Don't sleep under picnic tables and interstate overpasses no more. And I also don't dress like a slob, no more. Jus' a promise I made to this ol' fart I know , when I stopped drinkin' 13 yrs ago.
So WHOOPEE, what does that make me?
Do I "RIDE" to every rally? No
Do I ride ONLY on LONG rides? No
Do I ALWAYS dress like Mr. Badazz? No
Do I really CARE what everyone else thinks of it? No
Just 4 of the bennies of being an Ol' Fart.
And "SMILING" at all the posting going on here, is likewise, one more.
I ride iron older than a lot of the peeps here. Just makes it 'old'.

Patience Grasshopper... like Gumby said, you too will be a crotchety old fart too someday. And we can get away with lots of cool stuff, like farting in elevators, drooling and mumbling cause peeps think.. "Aw, he's just an old coot... let im be!"
