We're already animals. If an alien came from outer space and wanted to mark all the species found on Earth they would likely make signs to identify the various species. In the case of humans our sign would read:
Anamalia, Chordata, Mammalia, Hominidae, Homo, Sapiens
Personally I think they could have simplified the sign by having it read: Dangerous
