Help with proper "Biker Etiquette"/
#21
Krusr,
Just do whatever you think is "cool" or what a "real" biker would do. A poser is someone who don't act naturally (except the big-ole, hand-flapping wave with plenty of limp wrist). Also, a posers never wear leather. They wear shorts and flip-flops.
If I was in your situation, I'd have given him a "thanks nod." NEVER, EVER, EVER WINK, NO MATTER WHAT.

Good morning folks,
I have a pretty serious question for all my poser and (wannbe poser) friends here.
While riding the slab into work this morning (yes, I actually went to work this morning) a guy riding an Ultra pulled up along side of me, slowed for a moment, checked out my bike, and gave me a "thumbs up". I was in the next to inside lane doing about 75 and I'm reasonably sure it was the bike and not me he was checking but I guess I could be wrong. He caught me off guard with his "thumbs up" and not knowing how to respond, I instinctively returned his "thumbs up". As the freeway part about a 1/4 mile later, he took his hand off the throtttle and gave me a quick "three finger off the side wave" which I returned and we each went our seperate ways but it got me to thinking.
What should the proper response have been to his "thumbs up"?
He didn't wave.
He didn't give me a low five.
He didn't give me a high five.
He didn't give me a modified high five with one finger.
I did a search but couldn't find a "How to respond when someone gives you a thumbs up" thread.
I'm really stressing here as I want to act like a real biker while not looking like a poser trying to look like a real biker.
Help me out here, I know some here don't wave so this question is directed to those "posers" who do.
Does someone know the proper etiquette for this type of situation?
Thanks,
Krusr

The thumbs up was his way of asking if you'd like his thumb as a buttplug. The choice of response is: thumbs down meaning no you sick bastid, or thumbs up which means hell yeah buddy. The three fingers was him expressing his disdain at you for not going with him on his exit. 3 fingers meaning fug you three times. Hope this helps clear things up.
