See, now that's why I asked the question here.

I just knew I'd get some accurate information from knowledgeable folks.

Still don't know how to respond to the "thumbs up" signal though.

3 finger wave..lets think about it......Maybe he had a bugger on his pinky after picking his/her nose and was trying to get it off with his/her thumb and you caught him/her at a bad time thus the 3 finger wave and as far as the thumbs up deal.....Cant remember in at least the last 30yrs Ive ever done a thumbs up while on the bike, off the bike ya but on the bike,nope...

Maybe he was a gangsta, flashing you 'the' sign or

Maybe he was a woodworker (a poor one) with only 3 fingers. I don't suppose he had his fingerless gloves on to really be sure...

Do they make 3 finger fingerless gloves, and how can you tell if they are?

Dude, chaps, by definition, are a$$less. If they weren't a$$less, we'd call them pants or trousers or something.

Don't you know about the "three finger off the side wave" ? Everyone knows sup wit dat.
I'll explain it to you just this one time, and one time only. When someone gives you the
"three finger off the side wave". It means you are suppose to follow them to the next exit. Get off your bikes and talk about, where you got those heated gloves, assless chaps, boots, jacket, and helmet. See who paid the most $ for their gear....ect.
