Your better off just recording the Key number, either keep it in your wallet, or on your registration or something. If you loose the key, you bring your ID, Registration and key number to a locksmith and they whip you up a new key.

I lost my keys in May at 14k feet in the snow outside of Lake Tahoe, Gave my code the following morning to a local lock man, and I was good to go. Since I had my Garage door opener on me, Didnt even loose my house key. Was just to my bike.

Yeah, carrying around your key number and then tracking down a locksmith, getting a ride to his joint, provide he is open for business is a lot better idea than hiding a key somewhere on your bike.

I don't think you could fit a booger under that lens.

I attached a spare key to the tip of one of my spark plugs. That way, if I ever need it, I just borrow a spark plug socket and retrieve my spare key.
My engine is a bit noisier since I hid it there, but my mechanic told me it's because of the higher compression now.
And no, I'm not going to tell you what cylinder I hid it in!
