+1. Ya try not to let people get under your skin when you know that is all they are trying to do, but they get so much practice that they are experts at it. Seems like some just sit out there looking for things to complain about. Never give any answers to questions or advice to new riders. Gone and quickly forgotten.

Yes I read the story before posting, but no I did not read 16 pages of replies before I decided to respond...(I guess I'm lazy).

My brush with the biker "label" came about 4 yrs ago. I was on a job (construction) when a guy had known for a long time refered to me as a biker....in the text book sence. I didn't think too much of it until I was on my ride home. I'm 42, been on 2 wheels since I was 14, always had a streetbike of somekind, didn't matter what kind. The leather, facial hair & tattoos I assume aided in his comment. Dirtbikes, streetbikes, quads, snowmobiles, etc.... I just love being on a scoot of some kind.
I guess that I'm a "hardcore" biker because I don't think I could exist without a motor between my legs!

The only part he got wrong was " I guess I'm not a real biker because I drive my cage when it's raining. But I consider that an intelligence issue."
Rather than intelligence, it's just comfort level, or how far away from the couch you're willing to get.

Dunno , I was just born to travel , licensed for everything yet don't think of myself as a "trucker" as I think it's slang (really driven a few local cops nuts with THAT! as the vehicle they say I shouldn't be driving wherever because "trucks" are not allowed , I inform them #1 my "truck" is not a small van , much less a black one as depicted in thier damn sign # 2 It's a COMMERCIAL vehicle , in legalize , all commercial vehicles are NEVER called trucks in the description.
Now as far as being a "biker"
I love the harley's I've owned (and wish I'd gotten on the kick in '83 instead of much later, that said I do have a soft spot for old bikes I have had , as well as other various machinery), I do still like older (pre 1985 any bikes) stuff. And if it c ame to it for whatever reason , I'd still ride what the hell ever I could afford to..... even if the new socialistic president elect put's us on what they call "big bore" bikes..... 125 cc's!
