Tis true in my hood as well.
I recently saw a small group of riders in my hood with the 3 patches, but they were'nt HA.
A friend told me they are just a group of riders.I asked if they cleared their patches with the local HA,and he said they didn't have to,nobody has to.
Is this right?
I was told you had to meet with the powers that be at HA,and they had to okay it.
Just curious.....

If they are establishing themselves as outlaws then the 1% club will probably try to absorb them, first as prospects, and then later as full patch wearers. If they resist absorption they'll then be regarded as enemies and things get sticky.
The state "Rocker" is the most contentious of the three patches. To wear it is to declare a state as your turf, with no rivals. The state rocker is partly what set off a recent confrontation between two major California MCs. I won't mention names because it's not my business, but I'm sure most of you know what I'm referring to.
Other clubs who have a heritage that invokes respect will be "tolerated" within the turf of the dominant group, and they may be regarded as "supporters" but most won't be seen in a state rocker. There are a few exceptions, but it's based on heritage.
When you see an MC with a bottom rocker that reads "So. Cal" or "Bay Area" or "South Side" or something other than the name of the state then you're looking at independents.

Florida is somewhat unique in the fact that the state is divided into 3 'Confederation Of Club' districts, which are the COC North, COC South, and COC West.
The COC in each of these districts have different member clubs with recognized chapters.
The COC North in Florida has a very nice webpage, which gives additional information along with recognized member clubs in each 'COC district'.
(Click on the "links" tab and it will give you information to other COC's within the country, including the Florida South and West district.)

RE: Whose territory do you live in?
Ran into a couple of Only thee Lonely at a swap meet a few weeks ago in Wausau, did not know there were any of them around any more. I remember them from about 30 years ago pretty tough in central Wisconsin in the late 70s but these 2 guys looked to be in their 80s.
