I'll steal this from a friend... Back in the 80's, he was riding the only thing he could afford at the time, a Yamaha 650. He was catching **** for not riding a Harley from some guy all decked out in HD shirt, etc.. at the bar. So he asks this guy, "what are you riding?". He starts stuttering and finally says he's on the Schwinn, because "he's between bikes" right now. Yeah right.....

Got another one about the guy who says nice bike, then goes on to tell ya all about his '47 Indian he's got, but of course, it's in another state, and he can't get it right now, because, blah, blah, blah.....

Heard plenty, one of the best was when I rode my mint 72 Kawasaki H2 to the HD dealer.
Younger guy was right on me with the "Buy a HD" BS. [I have 3] while he's pontificating the crowd gathers and the H2/H1/widowmaker stories start as alot of my fellow grey beards grew up w/these machines. A few decent offers thrown at me to sell. Juinor is standing buy his Sport and sulking as no one was lookin at his.
On my way out I offer to sell him the H2 for his bike and $6g's

Back when I had my Sporty I had a 600cc Yamaha Crotch Rocket pull up next to me at a stop light. He was revving his engine and yelled over to me how he can "smoke that Harley". I told him "I hope so. If not you need to take it back to the dealer". I also told him "If I wanted to go 150+ mph I could have bought 2 of what you are riding". I am not so sure he could have beaten me on a stoplight to stoplight run though. Damn, I miss that Sporty.

At an outdoor military event, A Chaplain walks up while I am talking bikes with a guy I have known for almost 20 years. He listens for a minute and asks if that is my Fat Boy. I say "yeah, but it is a Fat BOB". He says "yeah...Fat Boys are great". I know he was just trying to be part of the conversation but...

I get that all the time when people ask me about my bike. Tell 'em it's a Fat Bob and they ask "don't you mean a Fat Boy?". Yeah m/f, I've owned the damn thing for over 2 years now and I have no idea what I ride!! Tards.

Why? Who cares what the straights think? It's not about what you ride...it's about the fact THAT you ride. I had a Honda, then a Kawasaki, now I ride a Harley, not because it's a Harley, but because it's the next on the list of bikes I want to own and I don't care what anybody calls it. When I get static, I always ask: What do you ride?
