Felt a little bad for the kid, but could have been an entirely different outcome.
Several years ago got woke up by noise next door, looked and saw a guy (winter, heavy clothing couldn't tell what he looked like) trying to pry the garage door open with a shovel. Called the police, and it turned out it was the next door neighbor, came home drunk and no key. Cop checked the back door and it was open.
I told him the next day I'd called the cops, and he thanked me, said in that condition he might have frozen to death and didn't even have enough sense left to check the back door. Was recently divorced and lived alone, no one to check on him, before cell phones.

Look at the bright side, Bob. Ya weren't in the dark wondering which way to spin the toilet paper to get a lead sheet.

Well, it's been above freezing here for a few days, but we haven't had much melting. Been too cold at night.

Lost a female cousin that way. Bad deal for everyone.

Bought the shocks March 2015 and had somewhere around 35-40k miles on them. When I initially contacted Ohlins and got my buddy, we talked about these. He said they "should" be inspected and rebuilt. I had made some changes in the settings for damping and spring rate and I have no clue where they're at now. I figure new bike, I ought to treat her to fresh shocks. Not sure how long they are good for. I suspect these will last me for the rest of my riding career.

So instead of planning ahead and buying pre-ground coffee, I bought a 12,000 watt generator. And yes, I'm going to be a bad boy and do a suicide 50A cord that will plug in the outside RV outlet.
I have an a/c inverter with the Tacoma. Just plug in the kuerig. But we haven’t lost power yet been over 15 years now. Lot of storms passed thru. Blizzards hurricanes. Tornadoes. Been lucky.

We had to improvise and heat up water on the Genesis and mix in instant espresso. Which actually wasn't bad at all. I'll have to keep some ground coffee around for future outages.

Which leads to the generator shopping experience. I expect that will be a joy. My wallet is already limbering up.
Here ya go.

Don’t forget a good cloth bag and a hammer to “grind” the beans Greg.
