About two months before I retired my boss from the east coast called and chewed my *** out for "not telling" him that I was retiring at the end of the year. I let him rant and rave until I could get a word in. I reminded him that we had a long conversation earlier in the year about my plans to retire. And that he should start thinking of hiring my replacement. He continued to rant and rave and I just sat there and let him go. He never did get a replacement for me, the existing crew would tell me how he would call them and complain because they were so far behind. I felt good leaving there. Except for the fact my co-workers were inundated with work. I never had any offers for contract work, to stay a bit longer or anything. Not that I would have accepted! Things suffered for a bit, and they never got me replaced.
Funny how when management doesn't really care about you except to bitch, ****, or moan, that we get an attitude back at them!

Burgers on the grill. Debating whether to watch the game. Prime is kind of a pain.
