Merry Christmas Everyone!
I have a houseful of people here, of varying ages.
Luckily, all are known to me but I may have missed one or two somewhere.

Like Mike said, they sometimes won’t stop you from sliding. Especially if there’s lots of space between the cross chains (the ones that go across the tread of the tire). If you lock up the tires and you have a cross chain in front and the back of the tire contact area (to the road), you will slide still.
Chains are a very rough ride. 30 mph max unless you’re a semi. I added extra cross chains to smoothen out the ride and creates extra bite. Keep them tight with rubber tarp straps.
Last time I chained up was 3 years ago in TR. Freezing rain when we were sledding and I didn’t want to slide off the road with a trailer full of sleds on. The guys behind me didn’t have chains, but they stayed on the chewed up track I made lol.
Lou, this is a long boring post but you may need it for when you move to Montana. Lol

Thanks Tim.
Merry Christmas all.
Got a sick baby girl. Throwing up a lot of milk. She made it 6 months before getting sick.
