Finally got the new Roku TV over to Carol's house. Her cable router (has Comcast) is upstairs at one end of the house (nearly twice as big as mine) and the tv downstairs at the other end, so I figured that might be a problem and brought a wifi extender. The signal appears to be so weak from her router the extender won't pick it up in the next room.
She likes the tv, but right now all she can watch is broadcast, like the previous tv. Without a better router, I don't know if there's anything I can do, other than getting her a long enough cable to reach the tv and somehow fastening it to the ceilings. Next step, call comcast and ask why their router doesn't reach the next room, but the tv can pick up 6 of her neighbors (which we don't have the passwords for ).

I had one house I had to connect another wireless router in the back of the house
Cement lathe walls & the signal was terrible, it was only 25' max away from the router
Another issue might be the broadcast strength
Found out the ISP had turned down the output on the router
Changed 1 setting (cant remember what it was) & it was much better
Still needed the back router for wifi & to cover the back yard
This house I ran wired out to the detached garage & then to my shed
I always have hard wired whenever possible, only phone & ipad use wifi

Mike, we ended up getting a Netgear Nighthawk mesh wifi system. Works great for spreading the signal throughout the home.
