I know several of you are plane buffs. I'm half way thru a book called Smuggler, true story about a guy named Roger Reaves, Georgia country boy who lost the farm and ended up in California in the late 70's early 80's. Became a fireman, but he loved to fly. Found out it was profitable to haul marijuana from Mexico to California. Profitable as in pulling in $40,000 a week. Pretty damn good money back then. Then he started hauling cocaine from Columbia. He should have quit.

Started out with Cessna's and ended up with multiple DC-7's and Aero Commanders. All hauling dope. Shot down multiple times flying over South American Countries.

It's a good read.....
Coincidentally I watched a youtube video interview of him earlier this morning, talked about playing cat and mouse with two Colombian fighters with a DC3. He lost the fighters with several holes in his plane, but when he tried an off field landing, it nosed over in soft ground and he had to walk through jungle for 11 days before finding an airfield for missionaries. Tells a good story, interesting guy despite his criminal background. Youtube has a lot of videos with him. Lot of people in that profession didn't reach retirement age.

Over a week and the Ace hardware store still hasn't put the new tires on the bigger snowblower. I expected it back together and running before the snow so I took the wheels off on the back patio so it wouldn't be in the way of anything. Now it's covered with snow. As I've had happen with cars and motorcycles, the backup blower decided not to back up...
Fug it, the truck can go through snow, and the FedEx driver has already walked through it, and will again, parts ordered for the non back up snowblower. At least with snow cover, I can tell if someone has come to the front door just by looking out a window. For a little while the video doorbell I got would tell me as they walked up, but it doesn't work below freezing. Be nice if they'd tell you that up front.

Inop blowers, snow... if I had to strain my knee (how? don't know, been moving some heavy stuff around lately), guess it picked a good time, I can put all the strenuous stuff on hold for now. Walking a little better today, finally improving. For 3 or 4 days was wondering if I finally had a knee go bad.

Your radio gig turned out great, Chris. You looked and sounded just like Jeannie C Riley.
