Hope it isn't what I'm almost over, sapped my energy for 4 weeks. Did the same to son in law, and he's almost half my age. Major symptom of mine was coughing.

Anyhow, he'd asked for a flight lesson. So I picked up a gift certificate for him for a discovery flight and also talked to them about rentals. $165 an hour right now, wet, for a 150. Another fiffy if you do a 172. Add another $50 for an instructor. I have a private certificate, and an A&P, but haven't used either in years. It would take me a good five hours with an IP plus a ton of ground study to get back up to speed. And a medical.

Motorcycles are still going to be the thrill for a while.
I quit renting planes when they got over $40/hr. When I lived in AZ, was in a flight club with Piper PA128s for $20/hr wet. The good old days when flying didn't break the bank account. Disappointed I never got to take my daughter flying, I think she would love it like I did. Largest plane I rented was a Cessna 182, hate to think what those cost now.

I had mashed taters, carrots, cornbread stuffing and 4 bottom round steaks. Ya had to put them against the grain for them to be tender lol.

Cooled off quite a bit, might have to toss the big blanket on the bed.
