I went out Christmas shopping today, for something my kid asked for a couple years ago, and I forgot about. Oh well.
Anyhow, he'd asked for a flight lesson. So I picked up a gift certificate for him for a discovery flight and also talked to them about rentals. $165 an hour right now, wet, for a 150. Another fiffy if you do a 172. Add another $50 for an instructor. I have a private certificate, and an A&P, but haven't used either in years. It would take me a good five hours with an IP plus a ton of ground study to get back up to speed. And a medical.
Motorcycles are still going to be the thrill for a while.

I just don't see those replacing conventional pickups as work trucks. For the price, pretty sure I'd take a Ford Lightning over a Tesla. For one thing, I hate those big screens in the middle of the dash instead of instruments in front of you, would never buy a vehicle set up that way. Audrey's model Y has it, and that's the only thing I really don't like about her Tesla. Well, that and the price tag...
