Not sure about how my back feels right now... sketchy is a good way to describe it, My psychotic nerve on the other hand FML.

Mornin, Woods. Hoping each of my fellow Veterans reflects on the rigors of service to our nation and enjoy the reason we honor that, not to mention the savings on appliances offered by retailers.

Halito Tick, Steph, Woods and Toaks. Happy Veterans Day. Heading to Post to get money bags set up. Then the the Harley dealer for a seminar on drive train/screaming eagle/stage 1,2,3,4 set ups. And any freebies they have. My local dealer has something going on every Saturday......good people.
Then maybe go back to Post this afternoon and see what's going on and visit with fellow Vets.
So I wish all our Vets a Happy Veterans Day. Hope you all have a good day. Remember, I'm pulling for ya....we're all in this together!
Go Army!

Tick it was November 10th 1975. I took the call as I was the officer of the deck on watch of the 110 foot Harbor Tug Raritan that night, moored peacefully in Grand Haven Michigan. We recalled our crew and headed out in the biggest storm I've ever seen,. The Captain told me to tell the men with kids to get so drunk they couldn't drive legally as an excuseand to miss the movement (a violation of UCMJ ) Every man pulled up to the dock and kissed their wives and kids goodbye and roughly pushed me aside after saluting the flag even though I told them the skipper said it was suicide. it was later determined the waves were so huge they broke over the decks of the Fitz and years later was found on the bottom, broken in two. My partner Dan Jayne and I were sharing the helm and along with the Captain CWO Gail Dougherty a real life hero who had been serving since he witnessed as a crewmanll and observed the first nuclear explosion on a tower at Bikini atoll. We were battened down in the bridge for about 14 hours on the helm with no relief for us fighting in 40 foot waves in a 110 foot harbor tug built in 1937. Definitely not what she was designed for. I will never forget when the skipper asked e to take her under the Mackinaw bridge in a blinding storm and mad it through trying to miss the bridge supports steering by the light of the green curser on pre war radar spinning in circles with the bridge looming dead ahead, a silent green line on the scope. The coast guard pretty much covered it up as we heard Lloyds of London was the insurance carrier and the rumor was there was a huge lawsuit over the accident. It wasn't londg after I was told my skipper was relieved of command and he later literally moved to Timbuktu which is a city in Mali where he passed away as an American expatriot. The only thanks we ever got or needed was from the Captain and the Chief Engineman and my Chief Bosun for keeping the 20 or so guys who were strapped literally in their racks. below decks. Every time I hear the song I get almost uncontrollable feelings of loss and sadness. Only a couple of us are still alive to this day. on the day they posted my friend on the helm had passed, Dan Jayne, I was getting my haircut and I had my first massive heart attack . It sucked big wienie. Would a kilt a normal man but All Coasties patron Saint is Popeye and to this day I Yam what I yam....The Lord watches over us and probably is shaking his head.

Morn'in Toakers and to all Vets? Thank You For Your Service! :icon_bana na:
I took a little 100 mile ride to see a friend yesterday and woke up kinda sore but I'm certain it's still residuals from the just under 2K miles trip I took last week but thank God we still live in a country where that's possible.

uh it’s a store not an activity sad to say
Good morning all. I have been informed that I will be having lunch with the MIL and her significant other. The missus has bottled water to deliver to her mom so a meet up is in order.
I woke up thinking about how Thanksgiving is just around the corner. I am always leery at Thanksgiving time because I have had a inordinate amount of bad luck either the day of or the week of Thanksgiving. I am not a superstitious type but after so many things one starts to think it is not a coincidence.
Everyone ride safe.
