TOAK, The Thread of All Knowledge part XIV.
Work week is over and it's dinner time. Chicken breast in Nashville sauce, steamed broccoli, and my 3 bean concoction. Also a couple Rod Benders from 3 Daughters Brewery. A great red lager but a little heavy on the finish. They say caramel finish but gets a little like coffee. Not my thing but I wanted to try it and there was 2 left so I thought it was time to get rid of them. Speaking of beer, I have mentioned here that I recently discovered a new beer by Yuenling, Golden Pilsner. I have been drinking Modelo for over a year and when I tried the GP, I thought it was so much like Modelo. Having both onhand I decided to do a A/B comparison last night.
First was the side by side visual test. They looked the exact same, I could not tell one from the other. Both nice and golden in color. I then munched a few salty almonds and took a swig of GP. I repeated with the almonds and then the Modelo. They are so close in taste there was no way to determine a preference. If had to say how they were different I would say the slight bitter bite at the finish was ever so slightly less with the Yuengling. Really close though on a bite scale GP was 98 and Modelo was 100. Honestly they are absolutely interchangeable to my palate. Since Yuenling Golden Pilsner is domestic I will give the nod at the grocery store but it has yet to appear in restaurants. There it will have to be Modelo.
Further about beer. Last week I paid $12 for a Presidente at a local dining establishment. Some may remember the rant. Today at Sam's they have 12-packs of Presidente for $13.76. I need to sell beer.

Sitting here playing, I really need to start recording, when I noticed it sounded familiar. Slowed it down, turned down the gain, and I was playing a thrash version of sunglasses at night. Funny what inspires you subconsciously
There's hardly anything new under the sun. There are only 7 whole notes in music. With sharps and flats a total of 12 notes. There's bound to be some overlap with millions of songs out there using the same 12 notes.
