I think we saw that plane! Cheryl and I were outside and saw a plane making very unusual noises and flying in a flight pattern we have never seen before. Depending on wind direction, we see Alaskan Airlines planes all the time flying over our house in a landing or take off position. We're far enough away that they aren't super low (or loud), but it's a daily occurrence. Anyway, this plane was well lower than normal, and making really weird noises. So much so that we got up from where we were sitting to look. Cheryl even said "It sounds wrong - like it's going to crash". Obviously it didn't but it headed for PDX, again, in a pattern that made us wonder what the hell was happening.

I don't much care for flying any more....had many trips to corporate headquarters and for work stuff. This just adds to that feeling! And all the ******** who are flying today with their elitist attitudes. I'd rather drive.
Glad the pilots got everything under control!

I think @wolverinehusky 's GF is a flight attendant for Alaskan
Again, we see planes and helicopters all the time here. After a while you sense a pattern. And by sound we know what we're going to see before we even see it. The Air National Guard has F16s that fly over us all the time and we can here them shortly after take off. This plane was definitely Alaskan Airlines and definitely doing something we had never seen before.

Time to ride home from work. These 10hr shifts are a drag but at least I have something to look forward to at the end

Sounds like it was that plane Bob. Too much of a coincidence for multiple Alaskan planes to be doing something out of the ordinary
I'm not entirely sure what the guy was looking to accomplish, pulling the fire handles/shutting off the engines is a weird move if you're looking to just crash the plane/hurt people.
