TOAK, The Thread of All Knowledge part XIV.
I was going to say have her ride it out there but realized that may be in poor taste.

That would be my mother's joke. She always says that. It doesn't help she lives in Kansas...

Yeah finally pulled in last night, gone a month to the day. Did a lot of secondaries and retraced a few of the routes I rode in my wanderings 30 plus years ago. Kinda forgot just how far out in the remote nowhere some of that really was and I did it on what a lot of people still consider the most unreliable harley ever made.
Love my old shovel, she did me good all those years ago.
Up side is I have two large mason jars of some serious West Virginia Apple Pie shine I had for a meetup I had to cancel unfortunately, may get Roe wobbly legged enough I might get a little again

My oldest son and his new wife are going thru a bad time right now, she just lost her grandmother and both of them were pretty close to her. They had just gotten back from their honeymoon but they got to see her before she passed. I've never met her myself.
Is she up there in years?
89 and having growing mental issues with manic delusions and onset dementia, starting to take a toll on the old gal and the local family in general, Roe is the stabilizing force in all this. Overall health is good otherwise considering her age.

Losing parents is hard for most folks. Dad at 73, Mom at 89. I still think of my Dad almost every day, that hit me a lot harder than I expected.

Close to frost temps so picked the butternuts yesterday, here's 49, plus one eaten, two given away and two I'm taking a chance on and leaving out there to ripen more. Best squash year yet. My Italian sweet peppers would have been a best year, but seems they've attracted squirrels from all over the neighborhood, doesn't seem like the ones I've killed has put a dent in the population. They take a few bites to ruin it and then go on to the next pepper. To me squirrels are like mosquitoes, the world would be better off without them. At least they don't like my hot peppers, I might go postal over that.
