I commuted about a hundred miles a day for almost 10 years but I didn't have to deal with traffic. No way would I do that at today's prices, or if I had to deal with any traffic.

The commute would be from where I live on the southwest side of Ft. Worth, through all of the mid-cities, around Dallas and 30 miles further east on I-30. No thank you. I lived in a hotel not far from there for a year and a half while building some aircraft previously. Time to renew some hotel points if the guy meets my price.

Gotta go out a Saturday and evaluate some foreign military sales UH-1H aircraft. They were refurbished by Bell in 2010 but need some wiring done to them. “The guy” won’t be back from ID until then. Sounds like a few weeks long project. The location is the other side of the megalopolis which takes it out of the realm of a commute. No freaking way would I put that many miles on my vehicle commuting 2 hours each way, every day in traffic.

I commuted just under a 100 for 30 years. In was a breeze most of the way because I went in to early but home was always a nightmare. I do not even like to think about how much time I spend in traffic as a proportion of my nearly 65 years.
