On our ride today I saw a mountain lion on the shoulder of the highway, vehicle got it.

Extremely rare to see one in OK. In the mid 1850's hunters eradicated them.

More confirmed sightings the last 10 years, usually numbering 10 or fewer.

we had one clipped in Connecticut. But it may have been an exotic pet that got out. Most big cats are leery of highways.

I'm going to read about that. Why do I think they moved north from Mexico?

Not a new thing, regardless what Oklahoma Wildlife Dept says. You just don't see them because they can hide in plain sight.

Friend of mine was mowing his 5 acres in Whiskey Falls, had an old abandoned car at the back of his pasture. When he got close with the tractor, big mountain lion came out of that car and disappeared in the brush. He looked in from his tractor and there were kittens in there. She was using the car as a den. He didn't mow back there for quite a while.

About 8 miles from my house cow died of bloat a few years ago. Mountain lion fed on the carcass 2 or 3 days in broad daylight.

Bill....sorry for your loss. Losing a pet is a pretty hard thing to go thru. Lost my share as well. RIP.

Well I did get a ride in today and mowed the lawn. So got that done for the week. Well the lawn mowing part.....

I'm moving dirt and big rock. During the week it's almost impossible with students running around. Prepping for winter. My last load. I'm a pretty crappy operator but didn't do to bad.

We have the cats here too. Florida Panthers they call them but they look like a mountain lion or cougar, maybe a little smaller. Plus bobcats that are sparse but out there.

The gig was great. They want us to play one Sunday a month and some Fridays next year. This place more than others love to hear our stuff and don't mind a lot of blues.

@Tonebender
Jeff, ya'll need to come to Minnesota and play. January is a wonderful time to visit up here. BTW my younger son is now gigging with a band on occasion and having a heck of a good time.
