I have a switchback. And a FF helmet.
I just don’t want a law saying I have to use it.

Evening gents! A glorious PNW evening here - 70 and sunny with a little bit of Autumn in the air. Sweater weather is upon us.

I'm sure there's a story behind this, but the comment cracked me up.

South Vietnamese soldier with a BAR was clumsy getting in the Huey. I ducked just in time to take it on top of the helmet instead of in the face. Or maybe he wasn't clumsy...

That's a big rifle to get hit with.

The instruments were in the way. Kinda disconcerting when you can hear your helmet grinding away.

Good thing I couldn't go lower than the instruments, was probably an inch or two from grinding my back. I preferred losing a bit of helmet. Oh, forgot, I hit a couple racoons, too.

Yep, not as bad as getting shot by one, though. I guess it was a bit difficult for a guy about 5' tall trying to maneuver a gun that big into a helicopter with other soldiers in it. When he got out, I held the M60 on him, just in case. He looked a bit nervous when he saw that. They all did.
