Pork tenderloin and beans was dinner.
I also had some worm prune juice to help me sleep.

Been a long road.

Both tore rotator cuffs, multiple soft tissue injuries. He was hung up with the bike while it was flipping and it ripped his leg from ankle to knee. Bad scar but that's healed. His wife's FF helmet split in 3 places. If not for the helmet she would be dead. I was never a helmet guy. I've ridden without a helmet since they repealed the law in Texas back in the 90's. I started taking a FF on trips when we were going thru helmet States, and for some reason, I started wearing it full time. If you do a face plant at highway speed with a half helmet, you're gonna be phucked up.

I'm used to wearing it now, and frankly, hauling *** at high speeds for 600 miles it doesn't wear me down like it did when I wore no helmet or that little beanie helmet.

Looks like Snowman will be making the North Carolina trip.

Good luck to Snowman. Hope he and his wife are doing well now. Positive thoughts for them.

Yeah, I started off wearing FF helmets back in the day. One saved my life as well. I still got to lay in traction most of a summer in1982, but at least I didn't get my brain scrambled. It was much later that I started going without a helmet. Did that for a while, but then decided to go back to the FF. Like you said, it actually makes a long trip better.

Took Carol to the credit union today, needed some cash. Now they have a line of self service things like elaborate atms, don't even have the teller lines anymore, and an employee spent about 20 minutes guiding Carol through the process. Most people that came in needed help. Carol didn't have a debit card, and it's a real hassle without one, got her set up with one. I imagine she'll still need help if/when she tries to use it. Told her treat it like another credit card, difference is immediate payment from checking, no credit involved. I doubt she'll try to use it but maybe she'll surprise me. She'll have to eventually, lot of places not taking checks anymore. She's definitely forgetting stuff she used to know. Maybe I am, too, if you forget something do you know you did?

Helmets... stopped a big chunk of wood the trailbike in front of me tossed backwards, stopped a rifle barrel swung at me (still rang my bell, so to speak), and I ground a flat spot on top 3 or 4" in diameter riding underground when the overhead got too low. Nothing like that ever happens anymore, I've grown boring.
