When I was in the service I was stationed on the USS Nimitz. Towards the end of my stint Hollywood came onboard the ship and shot a movie called Final Count Down. Watching that movie made me realize how much trickery is in filming a movie to create certain effects. At the very end of the movie they come down the gang plank and get in a car and drive off. The only issue with that is if they keep going it will be off the end of the pier. The other direction is not as picturesque.

I loved that movie, it was pretty cool back in the day.
