I haven't talked about this much to anyone besides my therapist, but I thought I'd throw it out. On occasion, I'll be sitting in my chair. I'll hear a sound and a thought pops into my head. Then, before I can even react, I feel myself going weightless, I hear the crunching of bone, then an impact. The pain hits my like a bullet but is over just as fast as it comes on. Then I'm back to normal, but without breath. I have relived this about 3 times over the past 2 weeks.

Not exactly the same, but similar experience with a back injury at L3 from the 1970s. Nerve damage. It improved over time but can flare up occasionally.
