In most cases bid proposals and contracts are signed. If I don't know you well/they don't know me well there is a certain degree of paperwork.

As far as warranty the blueprints are engineered and STAMPED. His stamp is his guarantee. The concrete co. has an engineer pull a sample off of each truck. In 28 days they break each one in a lab to test projected strength. That is their guarantee. As for me, I can't pour anything until the City has inspected the work and declared it proper and according to plan. They pass my work pre pour, that is my guarantee.

If something went to hell in the middle of all that I guess a Judge would sort it out.....

Couple of pics when we started. I was busy and tired, and forgot to get the last money shot. Oh well, hell, it's just a street, and not very interesting. Got to go back tomorrow and sawcut the entire damn thing

Jack, I can't imagine a job like that being done up here without a signed contract. That is nuts, but awesome for you. This would be put out to bid, all the t's crossed and i's dotted, bonding would be required, the whole thing.

Looks like a real nice job though. Is it ultimately part of a development or a new public roadway?

Like I said, I understand hearing loud equipment at 4 am is not the greatest thing. It's a one time inconvenience. In the grand scheme of things it's not a hill you need to hang your cross on. If we were doing it every day for weeks, then yea, I understand Karen getting pissed. One morning? Please.
.....
Just wait until the construction of the houses start. Saws, hammering, la musica, her nightmare is just beginning, or more succinctly, the city manager's nightmare.

Morning, morning Woods. Travel day back to the house today. I will spend tomorrow at home then head out to the Dominican Republic for a few days to work on that airplane.

Hurts like a sumbitch. Now my cheek is swollen which is an indicator of an abcessed tooth. I have ample doses of amoxicillan waiting for me when I get home.
