TOAK, The Thread of All Knowledge part XIV.
Halito Woods. Happy Rump Day. Thanks for the fine specimens!!!
YOu guys sure have some nice looking knives. I would like to have some of those, but can't quite see myself carrying something that large on my belt. I currently carry a Buck pocket knife. Small enough for my pocket and large enough to cover my needs. I've carried a pocket knife since I was about 10 years old....out on the farm, good for cutting twine off bales hay, or feed bags, or whatever!!! I did buy a Shrade folder back in the 70's. Again a bit large for me to carry on belt. But small enough....
Nice looking blades....

Mornin, Gents!
That's a pretty good idea Jack, you need a big chopper for the kitchen, and it's cool that it'll get some use now... then you have a reason to tell people the story behind it. Also good for you gettin that street job
Those knives are bad ***. Definitely some of the nicest I've seen. And for a fixed utility blade, I'd really take a look at Montana Knife Company. They have the blackfoot in stock, which is probably their best do-it-all knife. If you felt like waiting, you could wait till they make more in Magnacut which is a slightly better blade. They come with kydex sheaths but also have some really nice leather sheaths for them for sale
Plus they "generational" cleaning, sharpening, repair/re-shaping, for free which is pretty cool
Talking about knives. So one of the kids on Jaxen's football team is a Weatherbey. I was chatting with his father at the game and forging came up. Apparently he makes knives from out of spec Weatherbey barrels. Some sick *** knives but the price is something else!

Makes sense Jack. I just want a utility fixed blade like my old black handled Buck. Just something nicer. 1k for a knife is a bit much but I do want something that is high quality. Champagne wishes and a malt liquor budget. I wish my buddy Max was still making knives but he does big projects now.

Morning Woods. If I remember later, I'll post a pic of the two custom knives I have. I have several folding knives and an OTF, I carry daily, but the hand made fixed blade knives are works of art.
Currently, one of the knives I have is going for auction next weekend and I'm making the tooled leather sheath for it.
