Okay, so the abscess is a stitch that was trapped under the skin and is working it's way out. There's no pockets of infection that are spreading, so it's localized at the area. It's tender and hurting because of the nerve damage. It's currently sealed and healing, so I'm just going to continue watching it for now. Surgery to remove the stitch will be a last ditch option if needed.
My shoulder: I've been referred to a specialist locally. He'll likely do Cortisone to start, again, avoiding surgery until it's needed. Any surgery I do will be done before the end of the year though, I maxed my insurance out and I'm not paying anymore.
