I'll second that Chris.
Hang in there Chris. It can only go up from here. Any other PD's in your area that can use your skills?

Chris, I learned a long time ago to never disclose what I could do at 100%. Management asks if you can't do a little better, and gives you grief if you can't keep it up. I got lucky with my shop manager my last few years, said if I could handle the urgent stuff, he'd be lenient about coasting through slow times. In my experience, managers like that were rare, so on occasion he got 100%, but was the only one. You need to avoid moments of anger and doing something rash, I've been there and it's frustrating to hold it in. Didn't hold it in once, and regretted it for a long time.
Seems like this country has little respect for law enforcement anymore, and it's getting worse. Was in the news today, another town a few miles south of me is losing their last two officers this month with no applications to replace them. County police have to cover towns like that, and I'd guess those are getting spread thin. I don't know what the solution will be, maybe armed citizens ignoring gun laws? You might want to quietly seek an alternative source of income, doesn't sound like you'll ever be happy where you're at. Some of these private security firms pay very well I've heard, but that would probably require relocating. Best of luck to you, and a final suggestion - you've made some friends here, before doing anything run it by them, some pretty level headed guys here that care about you, could help avoid mistakes.

Howdy toakers. Busy morning. One of the bartenders, and her bf, were killed riding the other day. Another moron making a left turn
I just dropped some serious coin on aircraft parts (antennas and cabling).
I'm having a shitty day. Yesterday was horrible and today isn't much better. On top of that, I happened across a picture of my Street Glide and teared up. I am falling apart. Work is ****, and I'm trying to hold on, not giving up, but it's hard. I was criticized for being slow and now they're talking **** because I'm going fast but being accurate. What they fail to consider is there was a tremendous amount of paperwork that had to be done. They cover me while I'm in the hospital and decide it's too much so they do away with the paperwork. Now I'm running ten times faster and they're putting me down because I couldn't do that before.
You're what we call in the aviation industry, a walking, talking, human factors case.Whether the pressure is real or perceived, the implications are the same. When people feel as though they’re always expected to perform at an extraordinarily high level, they’re more likely to make errors. When shortcuts are employed, such as doing away with the paperwork, it leads to risks that could be unforseen such as chain of custody problems and could negatively affect ongoing cases. Playing by the expected but unwritten rules of workplace culture sometimes contributes to poor attitudes and habits, causing errors and mistakes. Where stress is concerned, if it is caused by workplace issues or personal struggles, it can have a huge negative impact on job performance.
Team members who fail to speak up or document their concerns when they see something has been done incorrectly or instructions aren’t clear contribute to the overall problem.
Tragic John. Very sorry to read this.
