I have the reverse story. I was a very good golfer. one year i was leading the county golf tournament, the largest in the US. I am cruising around the course in the final round. I get to #8 and I make a 10. I am beyond steamed. #9 was a short par 4, as I recall 318 yards.
I am so pissed I blast a tee ball onto the green, 2 putt for bird and immediately head for the parking lot. DNF.
I don't know if golfers get the yips, but tournament archers sure can, especially shooting a trigger release. I was shooting at the Illinois Pro Am when I conveniently developed target panic. First time I ever missed a target at a Pro Am. I was dejected beyond belief, and a Professional took me aside and told me how to fix it, and I did. It worked.
