Amazon photo of the pair I got. The tab with the hole is where the steering links attach, and this is what bends. Might last a while on flat smooth lawns, but mine isn't. I also got ball bearings for the wheels, the plastic bushings it came with are already wearing. I'm not impressed with the quality and durability of this Ariens at all. Looks good, but flimsy compared the the cheap Murray I bought 30 years ago and lasted 25 almost trouble free. I started replacing parts on this one the first year.

Cheap steel not hardened or perhaps engineered for a failure?

There's certain parts of motor vehicles I never want to stress about. Axles and suspension are a couple of them.

That’s a lotta beer. While in CA, we saw solid Caucasians on the road crews. There were even some Native Americans who would vomit their entire life story at a road stop (where it was reduced to one lane). I learned all about this one chicks marital history in 5 minutes while wearing a FF helmet and never getting off the bike. People do love to talk about themselves and will blather on given the slightest opportunity.

Yeah, never mind the shift linkage.

After listening to that for 5 minutes, I was ready to divorce her too!

She was kinda hot though with her tight body and drunken-sailor like speech.
