Amazon photo of the pair I got. The tab with the hole is where the steering links attach, and this is what bends. Might last a while on flat smooth lawns, but mine isn't. I also got ball bearings for the wheels, the plastic bushings it came with are already wearing. I'm not impressed with the quality and durability of this Ariens at all. Looks good, but flimsy compared the the cheap Murray I bought 30 years ago and lasted 25 almost trouble free. I started replacing parts on this one the first year.
There is a member of our group whose wife, both unidentified and with only good wishes, is renown for her stink eye look. After all these years I have it. When she drops it on ya all you see is your reflection wearing knee high socks, shorts with suspenders and a beanie with a propellor.
Evenin Woods! Been a crazy week or so. Heavy rain on Weds filled one of our basement window wells to the point you could see 10-12" of water up against the window. Benjamin & I did the bucket brigade routine to empty the window well, then we join the gals using shop vacs to get all of the water off the floor in that room (Beth's office). I put a piece of pvc pipe on the edge of the well cover as there was a gap about an inch or more that allowed the water to get in.
The same day & storm, friends of ours 2 blocks away were having their roof replaced from the hail storm in June. The water got into the house and their ceiling collapsed in 3 rooms. We did a little bit to help them but a family of 6 plus 6 guys from the roofing crew made it all a bit crowded and not much we could do. We did let them park their pop-up camper & a couple bicycles in Greg's stall of our garage so they have room to move stuff out of their house. We also had them over for a BBQ on Sunday. 4 days into hotel life and they appreciated a sit down meal in a house.

One of my basement window wells wasn't attached to the house and migrated a few inches away, so I dug it out this spring, have some corrugated roofing strips covering the hole right now. Digging up some crushed granite bordering the front of the house (never liked it anyway) to put around it, with a few inches of soil on top. Should hold it as long as I live here. That works ok, I'll do the second one, too. I can't do that kind of work in 80's and up with high humidity like it is now. Should have it finished before snow. I hope.
Nearby neighbor had the shingles off and it started raining. Have to give the Mexican crew credit, they had a tarp over it before it got wet, no damage.
I don't expect it, glad Amazon has cheap replacements. Look as good as oem, maybe I'll get lucky and they're a bit stronger. Probably all made in the same Chinese factory. At least they're easy to change.
