Shortly after I visited her in the hospital, I went down. We've both been in therapy together, coaching each other over the phone. For my birthday, she came down to see me. We were a pair, let me tell you. Her with a cane, me on crutches. Both, just hobbling along. She gave my the bell and hoped it would match the blue I went with. I told her I didn't care if it did but she was worried I wouldn't like it.
I put it on the bike where it would be easy to see. It made her happy to see it on there, and gives me a chance to talk about her when people see it. I'm proud to have that bell a mom that loves me enough to get it for me. That bell means a lot to me because behind it is a mother's love.

Thank you for asking Mick. She is doing considerably better. We were preparing for the worst. She is still weak on her left side, but walking without a cane now. She is speaking well and can swallow food without danger. The lasting issue she has right now is she can't hear out of her left ear. She is seeing a specialist for that but I don't have an update just yet.
She is back to work and happy to be there. I am happy for her. We've been talking a lot lately and she's doing great, but with some lasting effects. I'm not sure she'll regain the hearing in her ear yet, but, we're hoping the specialist will know what to do. My dad has been able to get back to work too, and my brother has grown up and decided to help her as much as he can.
We were on the verge of moving her in with us, but she's doing well and doesn't want that anymore. So all in all, she's on the mend, and I can't be more happy about that.

I've been smoking briskets and ribs for a long time and you have to be careful, too much mesquite can ***** a brisket up. Oak is better. Mesquite is great for ribs.
