Road repairs are always fun. Yeah, right..... only when you get home and get the proper fix. Then tell the story of how and what you did to fix!!!
Good job fellas.... hope this gets you home!
Congrats Chris...both on your bike mods and your work potential.....hoping everything works out for you!!!

After watching that, Mick may be thinking "Not gonna mess with those 2 Hombres".

Evening from Ely, NV.

We left this morning from Lone Pine, CA and made our way up 395 to Bishop then to CA 6 and followed it to Tonopah and then on to Ely. Pulling out of the gas station in Tonopah, Mick realized he couldn’t shift so we stopped on the side of the road to investigate. A nice lady stopped to make sure we had enough tools and we thanked her for stopping.

We got it to where we thought we could make it 160 miles to our evening destination and struck out. Kudos to Mick for riding 160 miles with no shifting! You’ve all seen the pictures of the Twister game Greg and I had to get it going and I can’t help but feel that HD techs pull the floorboard when doing this task.

The temperatures were not too bad today with an observed high of 105°. Tomorrow we head to Grand Junction before we break up the band and head separate ways. Mick will be with us at least one more night before we head into the heat of Texas.

Crossing a huge valley. The picture does not do the scale justice.

The road goes on.

The road still goes on.

Hwy 50 has nothing on this road for loneliness. Last sign I saw heading out of town said: “Last gas for 173 miles.”

Greg, that Road Glode cuts through the wind so well, you'll cruise that 176 miles and have gallons to spare when you fill up.

Looks like you had a great time with your dad!
We did. It was great to see his eyes light up and a smirk come across his face when he talks about the rides. He really enjoyed himself.

Not the tag teaming you were dreaming for, is it?

Nope, but it was fun making it happen in spite of the seemingly insurmountable odds we were up against.
A few bad words were uttered during the process in an effort to break the stubborn machine’s will.
