TOAK, The Thread of All Knowledge part XIV.
Scheduled or unscheduled maintenance?
Unscheduled at this point and kudos to Mick for going 160 miles without shifting! We think the shaft the actuated the shifter arm is stripped so we are going to shim it and see if we can get that arm tight enough. We will try using strips from a beer can (Mexican of course) to act as a shim.

Hope your temp solution works.....sometimes I think Harley should make that a square shaft mount!!
I hope your fix works. The other night we had someone breakdown. We went out with the trailer, picked them up, and came back to the house. I happened to have the spare part needed to get her riding and get home. She'll replace the entire shifter are and linkage this week.
Then my friend was having an electrical problem. Intermittent issue that i was finally able to see firdt hand. Some switches working, others not. With that info, I was able to trace back to a loose connection.
I have faith you'll get Mick fixed up without issue. Riding 160 without shifting is impressive.

I finished my latest install today. Kraus moto bars and gauge relocation. I've had these parts longer than the bike. I had to wait until I was strong enough to stand. The whole install took about 8 hours. From the top clamp up has been replaced.
This is my veiw from the cockpit. As you can see, the gauges don't block the screen and I can see them well.

I just got the call from work. Tomorrow at 3pm I qualify at the range. If that goes well (it will), I go to work Wednesday morning.
