No, we are taking PCH down from Monterey Bay.
Oil line plug up? Shouldn't have happened on an oil fed bearing. Lot of crud in that photo, wouldn't be surprised if got oil starved. I had an International bus engine spin a crank bearing because it stopped getting oil. Gave it to a Mormon outfit that fixed it and drove it to Central America with some kind of supplies.
Lines we're for grease. Double roller chain in an oil bath. Probably hasn't been greased in a long time.
Beautiful ride and I'm sure you are aware that the pch is closed at Lime Kiln campground.

At least you know about the closure.... I hate tripping like that and then find road closures, and not familiar with the area! Good luck and hope you don't have any major setbacks!
You can go south and check out pebble beach golf course and then come inland from Carmel to the 101 and south from there.
From your hotel in SLO I can take you up the pch to limekiln. It's about 2 hours one way. In my opinion it's the best of the PCH.
Pretty hot today but supposed to be about 5* hotter tomorrow. Welcome to the central coast where it's 106* inland and 56* on the coast.
